CPU and GPU skyrockets to 100% when playing Uplay games. Every game I play on uplay it uses up 100% of my GPU and CPU. The temperature also goes up to 70c, but i hear that its normal. Original Post — Direct link Ubisoft connect overlay is causing some serious issues with my game. The overlay doesn't seem to work, it worked yesterday and whenever i click the button combination to open it, it uses more and more of my cpu. To be fair I'm also capping my fps to 70 ( 75hz Freesync monitor ), but setting uplay to below normal greatly improved my 1% and 0.1% lows. Running RX 480 and Ryzen 5 1600x on mostly High settings.

I do know that the CPU usage while the client is active is quite high, and much higher when another client is active at the same time, which for a launcher that launches launchers, this is not super unreasonable.

Just for shiggles I'd check the priority in your task manager for steam , see if it's set to high. Or change the start page to your library in settings , close and re-open steam and just don't open the store. Dunno why but it worked for me a few updates ago. Or it was just a most excellent coincidence.
